VIDEO: ‘We will all die’… Ajimobi’s wife tackles Oyo deputy gov over failure to send text message

Florence, wife of the late former governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi has expressed her displeasure over an apparent failure of the state government to offer condolences to the family after his death.

In a video clip trending online and seen by TheNewsMatrics, Mrs. Ajimobi could be seen challenging Oyo State deputy governor, Rauf Olaniya, as he struggled to explain how he called her phone but did not get through.

The deputy governor had led a delegation to pay a condolence visit to the Ajimobis.

The family had alleged that the state government refused to offer condolences over Ajimobi’s demise despite the fact that he served a a two term governor for eight years and was responsible for the delay in the burial.

The government denied the claim.

“You should have sent a text  message sir. I don’t have your number, I am the wife of a politician, I cannot pick calls from people I don’t know…. your excellency  After all we will all die. My husband is dead and he served this state for eight good years…everybody is going to die”, she said as other family members tried to pacify her.

The Ajimobi family and Oyo State government had clashed earlier over the burial site.

The late politician was interred on Sunday morning at his Oluyole home after the government  rejected a request that he  should be buried at his Agodi GRA property, citing ongoing litigation.

The case was said to have been initiated  by late Ajimobi himself.
