King Salman of Saudi Arabia has declared a holiday for public sector workers after the country’s team handed a stunning 2-1 defeat to Argentina as their group opener at the World Cup tournament in Qatar on Tuesday.

Saudi Gazette reported the development in a tweet on Tuesday.

The holiday is for Wednesday as the Saudis savour an incredible victory to end Argentina’s 35 game unbeaten run ahead of the mundial and are seen a one of the favourites to lift the cup.
