The Edo State House o f Assembly has impeached Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu who has been in enmeshed in a lon standing dispute battle with Governor Godwin Obaseki over his plan to run for the governorship seat.

The impeachment on Monday followed the adoption of the report of the seven-man investigative panel set up by the state chief judge to probe allegations of misconduct against Shaibu.
Shaibi and his lawyers had shunned the proceedings.
