Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, on Wednesday, dissolved the State Executive Council.
But he retained only the office of Chief of Staff, which will now be occupied by former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Moses Atagher.

Atagher, a seasoned administrator and former acting Managing Director of the Federal Mortgage Bank, was announced as the new Chief of Staff with immediate effect at the close of the 12th executive council meeting of 2025.
The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Terso Kula, disclosed that the dissolution affects only the commissioners.
Alia expressed appreciation to the outgoing commissioners for their two years of service.
He urged those who may not be reappointed to remain in the party and continue to support the administration.
Speaking on behalf of the sacked commissioners, Barr. Bemsen Mnyim thanked the Governor for the opportunity to serve.
He described the experience as a learning process.
The former commissioners have been directed to hand over to the permanent secretaries of their respective ministries.
