Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, has met with President Bola Tinubu at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Our correspondent spotted Musa arriving at the State House at 7:03 pm on Monday as he was led into the President’s office area by a senior security official.
Dressed in dark-green traditional northern attire with elbow-length sleeves, Musa is meeting the President publicly for the first time since Tinubu retired him on October 24, 2025.
The Newsmatrics reports that there are speculations that Musa could replace Mohammed Badaru, who was forced to resign as defence minister amid domestic and international pressure to tackle the escalating insurgents and terrorist attacks on Nigerian citizens.
Badaru’s ouster on Monday came swiftly after shocking comments to the BBC Hausa Service suggesting that the Nigerian military did not possess the capacity to bomb terrorist hideouts in northern forests, triggering doubts about his competence and fitness for such a critical role in the federal cabinet.
The minister of state for defence, Bello Matawalle has also come under scrutiny over his alleged role in supporting bandit leaders with vehicles and feasts at the Government House, while he was Zamfara State governor.
Matawalle has since debunked the allegations.
