President Bola Tinubu has departed the United Kingdom (UK) to France after a meeting with Kabir Masari, his aide.
In a post on X on Friday, Masari, the senior special assistant on political matters to the president, said he visited Tinubu at his private residence in the UK.
The aide said he and the president headed for Paris, France, after “productive discussions”.
“Today, I had the honour of visiting President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR at his private residence in the United Kingdom, where we engaged in productive discussions,” Masari wrote.
“Together, we are now heading to Paris, France, for another significant engagement.”
TheCable confirmed that Tinubu is now in Paris and will be there till Wednesday.
On October 2, the presidency announced Tinubu’s departure from Abuja to the UK for a two-week vacation as part of his annual leave.
“Tinubu will use the two weeks as a working vacation and a retreat to reflect on his administration’s economic reforms — he will return to the country after the leave expires,” the presidency had said.
Tinubu has embarked on a series of trips to the UK and France since he was elected president in March 2023.
On August 29, Tinubu left Abuja for China but stopped in Dubai before arriving in Beijing on September 1.
On September 16, the president returned to Abuja after a “fruitful two-week trip” to China and the UK.
During the UK trip, the president met with King Charles III in London, where discussions on climate change were held.
