Mohammad Badaru, the defence minister, has asked troops of Operation Fansar Yamma to arrest Bello Turji, a notorious bandit leader.

Badaru gave the directive during his address to the troops at the One Brigade Headquarters in Gusau, Zamfara state.

The minister added that his visit was intended to receive updates on military operations.

He said President Bola Tinubu has been monitoring the activities of the troops in recent months and noting improvements in counter-terrorism operations, though challenges persist.

“He, therefore, urged me to thank you and to urge you to do more to end insecurity in these areas of operation and the country,” Badaru said.

“He is ready to provide all you need to end insecurity in the Northwest and Nigeria.

“I had some reassurances from the commander and was pleased; sure that we would reach the goal. Are you ready to finish with them? Are you ready to end it? Please get me Turji.”

Badaru was received by Oluyinka Soyele, theatre commander of Operation Fansar Yamma, along with Mani Mumuni, deputy governor of Zamfara state, and other dignitaries.
