President Bola Tinubu has decorated Olufemi Oluyede, the acting chief of army staff (COAS), with his new rank of lieutenant-general.

On October 30, Tinubu appointed Oluyede as the acting COAS.

In a statement, Bayo Onanuga, special adviser to the president on information and strategy, said Oluyede would act in the position pending the return of the indisposed Taoreed Lagbaja, the substantive COAS.

Badaru Abubakar, the minister of defence was present at the ceremony held on Tuesday at the State House, Abuja.
