The Dangote Refinery has announced a further reduction in the price of petrol, bringing it down from N970 to N899.50 per litre. This was disclosed in an official statement shared on the X (formerly Twitter) handle of the Dangote Group.

According to the statement, Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) will now be sold at a price below N900 per litre to provide Nigerians with much-needed relief ahead of the holiday season. This latest reduction comes after the refinery had previously lowered the price to N970 per litre on November 24. The move aims to ease transportation costs during the festive period.

Anthony Chiejina, Group Chief Branding and Communications Officer of Dangote Group, highlighted an additional special offer designed to benefit consumers further. “To alleviate transport costs during this holiday season, Dangote Refinery is offering a holiday discount on PMS. From today, our petrol will be available at N899.50 per litre at our truck loading gantry or Single Point Mooring (SPM). Moreover, for every litre purchased on a cash basis, consumers can buy an additional litre on credit, supported by a bank guarantee from Access Bank, First Bank, or Zenith Bank,” Chiejina announced.

The refinery expressed its gratitude to Nigerians for their ongoing support as the country prepares for the festive season. Chiejina reaffirmed the refinery’s commitment to providing Nigerians with high-quality petroleum products at competitive prices. He also noted that these products are both environmentally and engine-friendly.

He further stressed that the operations of the Dangote Refinery mark a significant milestone in Nigeria’s petroleum sector, putting an end to the importation of substandard and blended products. Such products have posed serious risks to human health, machinery, and the environment.

The Dangote Refinery, with a processing capacity of 650,000 barrels per day (BPD), is the largest single-train refinery in the world. It is fully equipped to meet 100% of Nigeria’s refined petroleum product demands, with surplus capacity available for export.
