Nigeria’s performance in the 2026 World Cup qualifying series has so far been subpar. The Eagles are in fourth place with seven points from six matches, the latest being a disappointing 1-1 draw against Zimbabwe.

Unbeaten Ivory Coast are top of Group F with 14 points and are yet to concede a goal.

Morocco remains the highest-ranked nation in Africa while Senegal, Egypt, Algeria and Ivory Coast occupy the remaining top five positions.

Argentina retained its position as the first-ranked nation globally while Spain moved into second ahead of France who dropped to third.

Myanmar are the highest climbers in the latest rankings, moving up seven places to 162nd, while Guinea-Bissau dropped eight places- the highest- to 128th on the back of four straight losses.

The next FIFA world rankings will be released on July 10.
