Over 60 top media executives from across Nigeria will gather in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on May 5 and 6, 2025, for the 3rd Nigerian Media Leaders’ Summit, with a focus on transforming audience and community engagement into financial sustainability in the age of artificial intelligence.
The event, organised by The Journalism Clinic, will take place at Academy Suites and is expected to draw a wide range of participants, including newspaper publishers, editors-in-chief, CEOs of television and radio stations, general managers, directors of programmes, and editors.

Founder and Director of The Journalism Clinic, Taiwo Obe, announced the summit in a statement to newsmen on Wednesday. He emphasized that the central theme of the summit is how media organizations can adapt to the challenges and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence while deepening connections with their audiences.
The summit is backed by several major sponsors and partners, including the Nigeria LNG (NLNG), Lagos and Ogun State Governments, the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Nigerian Railway Corporation, Fidelity Bank, and Polaris Bank. Prominent Nigerian newspapers such as The Punch, The Nation, The Cable, and Business Day are also lending their support, along with the Newspaper Proprietors Association of Nigeria, Innovation Media Consulting Group, Real Pharmaceuticals, Academy Suites, and Penpushing Media.
Obe highlighted a key development from last year’s summit: the creation of the Innovative Media Partners Cooperative Multi-purpose Society (IMPCMS), inspired by a presentation titled WHERE’S THE MONEY?.
This year, a major feature will be the OWNERS’ FORUM, where five distinguished media leaders will share insights into effective audience engagement. The speakers include Frank Aigbogun, Publisher of Business Day; Joseph Adeyeye, CEO/Editor-in-Chief of Punch Newspapers; Toun Okewale Sonaiya, CEO of WFM 91.7FM – Nigeria’s only women-focused radio station; Betty Dibiah Akeredolu-Ale, CEO of Branama TV, Nigeria’s first children-targeted television station; and Musikilu Mojeed, COO/Editor-in-Chief of Premium Times. The session will be moderated by Tolu Ogunlesi, a former Presidential aide.
“It is an occasion for the leaders to square up to their markets for enduring prosperity, particularly in the age of artificial intelligence,” Obe said.
The summit promises to be a strategic convergence of visionaries shaping the future of media in Nigeria.
