His resignation from the ruling party was conveyed in a letter dated June 1.

The letter was addressed to the APC chairman in his Uke ward, Karu LGA of Nasarawa state, and copied to other party officials.

The former minister said he was leaving the party for personal reasons.

He expressed appreciation to the ward chairman for the support and cooperation he received during his time in the APC.

“I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) based on personal reasons,” the letter reads.

“I thank you for the cooperation while I was in the APC where we made modest contributions in building the party in the state. I wish you and the party good luck.”

Abdullahi served as commissioner for justice and attorney-general of Nasarawa state during the administration of Abdullahi Adamu.

He also held the position of secretary to the state government (SSG) under former governor Umar Tanko Al-Makura.
