United States President, Donald Trump, has warned that his administration will suspend all aid and assistance to Nigeria if President Bola Tinubu’s government fails to address the growing attacks on Christians across the country.

In a post on his Truth Social account on Saturday, Trump accused the Nigerian government of allowing what he described as “killing of Christians.”
He alleged that radical Islamist groups have been targeting Christian communities in different parts of Nigeria, insisting that Washington might be forced to intervene if the Nigerian authorities continue to look the other way.
He wrote, “If the Nigerian Government continues to allow the killing of Christians, the U.S.A. will immediately stop all aid and assistance to Nigeria, and may very well go into that now disgraced country, “guns-a-blazing,” to completely wipe out the Islamic Terrorists who are committing these horrible atrocities.
“I am hereby instructing our Department of War to prepare for possible action. If we attack, it will be fast, vicious, and sweet, just like the terrorist thugs attack our CHERISHED Christians! WARNING: THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT BETTER MOVE FAST!”
Trump had designated Nigeria as a “country of particular concern,” saying that Christianity in the country faces an existential threat.
He claimed that thousands of Christians have been killed by radical Islamist groups and called for an immediate congressional investigation into the crisis.
Trump maintained that the United States would not stand by while Christians in Nigeria and other parts of the world face persecution, insisting that America remains ready to defend Christian populations globally.
