The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has acknowledged the current Quality of Service challenges in Abuja, which are affecting subscribers’ experience.

The NCC explained that the situation is primarily due to a disruption in diesel supply from the National Oil and Gas Suppliers Association (NOGASA) to IHS Nigeria Limited—the colocation provider powering critical base stations for Airtel and MTN in the region.

The NCC said it is actively collaborating with key licensees and stakeholders to resolve the supply bottleneck and restore full services.

“We are facilitating direct dialogue to find swift and sustainable solutions, recognizing that reliable power is essential for optimal telecommunications.

“We remain dedicated to ensuring seamless communication nationwide and are taking proactive steps to manage the situation,” it stated.

The commission assured that it will continue to provide updates on the progress toward full restoration in Abuja.

“We appreciate the patience and understanding of subscribers during this period and reaffirm our commitment to delivering high-quality telecommunications services across Nigeria,” the NCC said.
