President Bola Tinubu, in his annual Christmas goodwill message delivered on Wednesday, invoked the love and peace of Jesus Christ to rally Nigerians toward unity, religious tolerance, and national progress, while reaffirming his administration’s ironclad commitment to security and freedom of worship amid persistent threats of intolerance and violence.
Addressing “My Fellow Nigerians” on this eve of Christmas 2025, Tinubu extended warm festive greetings to Christians across Nigeria and the world, praying that Christ’s message of grace, hope, peace, and goodwill would abide with all. He urged reflection on the significance of Jesus’ birth as the Prince of Peace and a beacon of salvation, beyond the season’s celebrations.

“I thank God for the opportunity to serve as the leader of our great country, and I pray for peace in our land, especially among individuals of differing religious beliefs,” Tinubu stated, underscoring his presidential pledge to enshrine religious freedom and shield all faiths from violence.
The President hailed the enduring contributions of Nigerian Christians, inspired by the Gospel to uplift the vulnerable, foster peace, harmony, and tolerance in communities, and bring hope amid despair. “For those who bring hope and faith in the midst of despair, this season is a reminder that, despite daunting challenges, God is with us,” he noted.
Reiterating assurances given since assuming office in 2023, Tinubu vowed unyielding efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s security, unity, and stability under God and the Constitution. “All Nigerians have the right to live, worship, and pursue their aspirations in safety and dignity. No one, regardless of ethnicity or belief, should be made to suffer for professing and practising his faith,” he declared.
Tinubu emphasized that love for God and humanity unites all great faiths, binding Nigerians as “one indivisible and resilient people.” He highlighted ongoing engagements with leaders of Christianity and Islam to combat religious intolerance and insecurity, promising deeper government-religious collaboration for conflict prevention and coexistence.
As millions travel for Yuletide reunions, the President issued a safety alert: “I urge all citizens to exercise patience and maintain discipline on the roads. I wish all travellers a safe journey and a safe return.”
Looking ahead with optimism, Tinubu expressed confidence in divine providence and collective resolve to build a greater Nigeria for future generations. He closed with festive wishes: “Merry Christmas and a happy New Year in advance.”
