The Governor of Benue State, Hyacinth Alia, has congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as the successful conduct of the National Convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC), held on Friday

In a statement issued on Saturday by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Tersoo Kula, the governor commended Tinubu for providing what he termed “visionary leadership” that ensured the smooth planning and seamless execution of the convention.

Alia expressed optimism that the unity and cooperation demonstrated by party members throughout the congresses and convention processes would strengthen the ruling party and position it for sustained growth and success.
“I heartily congratulate the leader of our great party and President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, for providing the visionary leadership that ensured the successful planning and seamless execution of the National Convention of the APC,” the governor said.
He noted that the peaceful ratification of processes leading up to the convention — including ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses — reflected the party’s internal cohesion and democratic credentials.

According to him, “The amicable ratification of all proceedings leading to the convention accentuates the strength, unity, and internal democracy of our great party. This achievement underscores a shared commitment to purposeful leadership and progress.”

The governor also congratulated the newly affirmed National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside other party officials who emerged at various levels during the convention.
He urged the new leadership to justify the confidence reposed in them by party members, stressing the need for integrity, discipline, and dedication to duty.

Alia further charged the officials to work towards strengthening party cohesion and advancing the ideals of the APC, noting that expectations among Nigerians and party faithful remain high.
“I am confident that under your collective leadership, the party will continue to grow stronger and deliver on its mandate,” he added.

The APC National Convention is a key event in the party’s political calendar, where leadership structures are reaffirmed and strategic directions outlined ahead of future electoral contests.
