NNPC said the volume is a slight dip from the 1.64 million bpd recorded in January 2026, but an improvement over the 1.51 million bpd produced in February.

On the gas front, natural gas production reached 7.73 million standard cubic feet per day (mmscf/d) in the month under review, marking a steady increase from the 7.28 mmscf/d and 7.45 mmscf/d recorded in January and February, respectively.

The report showed that upstream pipeline availability stood at 76 percent, while the availability of premium motor spirit (PMS) at NNPC Retail (NRL) stations was 56 percent.

On infrastructure, the NNPC said the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) gas pipeline project is 96 percent complete, while the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) gas pipeline has reached 93 percent completion.

The national oil firm noted that for the OB3 project, drilling operations at the River Niger crossing have continued as scheduled.

Regarding the AKK pipeline, the company said it has completed the welding of the 24” spur line to the Gwagwalada Independent Power Plant, noting that “significant progress” has been recorded for outstanding mainline pre-commissioning works.

The NNPC added that it will continue to strengthen production resilience by executing restoration plans focused on “improving asset reliability, resolving evacuation constraints, and implementing other targeted recovery initiatives”.
