Nigerian community in Northampton to hold victory celebration party after carnival triumph

The Nigerian Community Northampton has announced plans to hold a Victory Celebration Party following its emergence as the Best Troupe Award winner at the Northampton Carnival 2026.

According to information released by the community, the celebration will take place on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at the Quaker Meeting House, Wellington Street, Northampton, United Kingdom.

The event is aimed at celebrating the community’s outstanding achievement at the carnival, which organisers described as a testament to the unity, cultural richness and excellence of Nigerians in Northampton.

His Royal Majesty, the Olu of Sangotedo, Oba Muhammad Soliu Olufunmi Eshinlokun, is expected to attend the event as the Special Guest of Honour.

Guests have been encouraged to appear in traditional “Ojude Oba” attire as part of efforts to showcase and promote Nigerian cultural heritage.

The celebration is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. and will feature music, cultural displays, networking opportunities and refreshments.

Organisers said the event will provide an opportunity for members of the Nigerian community and friends of Nigeria to celebrate the award-winning performance while promoting cultural unity and excellence among Nigerians in the diaspora.
