Saudi club offers Galatasaray €120m for Osimhen

Galatasaray have reportedly received a €120m offer from a Saudi Arabian club for Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen, with the Turkish champions now sitting on two separate nine-figure bids as the summer transfer window intensifies around their prized asset.

Turkish transfer insider Serhan Türk reported that Galatasaray now have two distinct €120m proposals on the table — one from a European club and another from Saudi Arabia — though the identity of the Saudi club has not been disclosed.

The development comes after Atlético Madrid were previously linked with a bid of the same amount, while a separate unnamed European club was said to have made a verbal offer of €125m.

Despite the extraordinary level of interest from multiple continents, Galatasaray have shown no indication of changing their position. The Turkish Süper Lig champions are determined to keep Osimhen in Istanbul, with club officials reportedly viewing the 27-year-old as the most important player in their squad and the cornerstone around whom the next phase of the team’s development will be built.

That conviction has only hardened following Osimhen’s outstanding first full season with the club after his record transfer last year. The Nigeria international scored 22 goals and provided eight assists in 33 matches across all competitions to help Galatasaray successfully defend their Süper Lig title, a campaign that further underlined his importance to the club’s ambitions.

Club president Dursun Özbek is reported to value Osimhen at €150m and has no intention of opening transfer discussions with interested parties. Beyond the valuation, Galatasaray are said to be preparing a new long-term contract running until 2029 with a significant salary package, while also planning to hand the forward the captain’s armband following the expected departure of Mauro Icardi and offer him the famous number nine shirt as a symbol of his centrality to the club’s identity.

The club is also believed to be targeting the signing of a top-class midfielder to strengthen their UEFA Champions League credentials, with the overriding message from Istanbul being that they want Osimhen to lead their next chapter rather than depart.

One avenue that has now been firmly closed, however, is Manchester United. According to the Manchester Evening News, the possibility of a move to Old Trafford has been ruled out, with the combination of Galatasaray’s massive asking price and Osimhen’s salary — significantly boosted by Turkey’s favourable tax breaks for high earners — having priced the striker beyond United’s reach.

Manager Michael Carrick, who has already added Atalanta midfielder Ederson to his squad, is now expected to explore alternative striking options, with Marcus Rashford set to be reintegrated into the first team if no acceptable offer arrives for the England international, and Joshua Zirkzee widely expected to depart after an underwhelming two-year spell.

Although Saudi Pro League clubs have previously tabled personal terms exceeding $50m per year for Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker has consistently been associated with a desire to remain in European football, with a move to the Premier League described as among his long-term ambitions. With Galatasaray immovable and European suitors yet to meet their valuation, the transfer saga surrounding one of the world’s most sought-after strikers shows no sign of reaching a swift resolution.
