Nigeria international Victor Osimhen has cast fresh doubt over his future at Galatasaray after alleging that he has not been paid for three months, despite completing a high-profile move to the Turkish champions.
Speaking during a live session on social media, the Super Eagles striker expressed frustration over the alleged salary arrears, warning that he could leave the club if the situation is not resolved.
Osimhen, who is reportedly one of the highest-paid players in Turkish football on a salary of close to €2 million per month, said he had gone three months without receiving his wages.
In the emotional broadcast, the 27-year-old also claimed that his performances had significantly raised Galatasaray’s global profile, insisting that those responsible for the club’s finances had shown little appreciation for his contributions.
“If I am not paid, I will leave,” he reportedly declared, describing those handling the situation as ungrateful.
His comments come amid reports in the Turkish media that some Galatasaray players were issued salary cheques that were later dishonoured. There have also been reports that Osimhen received a notification from Turkish tax authorities regarding outstanding income tax obligations, although the circumstances surrounding the matter remain unclear.
The development is likely to reignite speculation over Osimhen’s future after one of the most closely followed transfer sagas in European football.
Before eventually joining Galatasaray, the former Napoli striker attracted strong interest from several elite clubs across Europe and the Middle East. Premier League sides, including Manchester United and Chelsea, were repeatedly linked with the Nigerian forward, while Saudi Pro League clubs were reported to have tabled lucrative offers. Italian champions Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were also credited with interest at various stages of the transfer window.
However, Galatasaray ultimately secured his signature after convincing the prolific striker that he would remain central to the club’s ambitions of dominating Turkish football and challenging in the UEFA Champions League.
