The National Orientation Agency has commiserated with the Nigerian Air Force and families of personnel killed in the aircraft crash in the Igbokoda area of Ondo State.

The agency also pledged to promote proper observance of the national flag following President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of three days of national mourning over the tragedy.
In a statement, NOA Director-General, Lanre Issa-Onilu, described the deaths as a painful loss to the nation, saying the fallen personnel demonstrated courage, patriotism and unwavering commitment to national service.
Issa-Onilu said their sacrifice in protecting the country would not be forgotten, adding that their service represented the values of discipline, courage and dedication to Nigeria.
He said the agency would intensify its sensitisation efforts to ensure compliance with the President’s directive that the national flag be flown at half-mast throughout the mourning period.
According to him, the Nigerian flag remains a powerful symbol of the country’s sovereignty, unity and shared identity, urging citizens to observe the mourning period with the dignity and respect befitting the sacrifice of the fallen personnel.
The NOA boss expressed solidarity with the Chief of the Air Staff, officers and personnel of the Nigerian Air Force as they mourn their colleagues who died in the line of duty.
He also extended condolences to the families of the deceased, acknowledging the pain of losing loved ones who died while serving the nation.
Issa-Onilu urged Nigerians to use the period of mourning to reflect on the sacrifices of members of the Armed Forces and the responsibility of citizens to uphold patriotism, national unity and respect for national symbols.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of the souls of the deceased and for strength and comfort for their families, colleagues and the entire Nigerian Air Force.
He reaffirmed NOA’s commitment to promoting national values, civic responsibility and respect for Nigeria’s national symbols.
