Our correspondent gathered that, Ifeoluwa, popularly know as Tescom, was shot dead by suspected members of eiye cult group, at Ijeun Titun area of Abeokuta, on Sunday.

Ifeoluwa’s death was in continuation of the supremacy battle among various cult groups in the state.

The murder has thrown residents of Ijeun Titun and adjoining communities in anxiety as they nurse fears of reprisal attacks.

Residents told our correspondent that a gang of cultists had invaded the community in an unmarked Toyota Corolla car, shooting sporadically before they went for the target.

A gory picture of Ifeoluwa which has been circulating on the social media showed his lifeless body in the pool of blood with his head badly damaged.

A resident who pleaded anonymity said, “Some boys came into the community with a Toyota Corolla and opened fire on the victim while he was breaking his fast with his friends. The incident happened at 8:30 p.m. on Sunday.

“Tension has engulfed the community as many residents have started leaving the area in fear of a reprisal attack.

“There is going to be serious fight in Abeokuta and other areas of the state because that man killed was a popular aye member and a known political thug.

“There will be reprisal attacks from his gang members, but we are speaking to the police to step up security in Abeokuta and its environs.”

Police Spokesman, Omolola Odutola, confirmed the killing to our correspondent.

Odutola said, “One Olumide Danish Ifeloluwa ‘Tescom’ was shot in the head by unidentified gunmen in a ash Colour Corolla nil REG number at Somefun Ijeun Tuntun, on Sunday at 19:55hrs.”

About 48 youths last week renounced cultism in Sagamu and surrendered their arms to the Police.
