A United States of America-trained Hollywood and Nollywood filmmaker, Emeka Emmanuel Mbadiwe, has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency for the importation of illicit drugs into Nigeria.
The Director of Media and Advocacy of the NDLEA, Femi Babafemi, revealed the arrest of the filmmaker in a statement on Sunday.
Babafemi revealed that Mbadiwe, also a motivational speaker, was arrested on December 27, 2025 at his Lekki, Lagos State hotel room.
This followed the arrest of his partner, Uzoekwe Ugochukwu James, earlier the same day at a warehouse in Ajao Estate, where he was sent by Mbadiwe to collect a shipment of 33 parcels of Loud, a strong strain of cannabis weighing 17.30 kilograms.
The illicit drug had arrived at the import shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos State on December 24, 2024 from the United States of America on a Delta Airline flight, concealed in large wooden boxes.
